Table of contents
How it works
- Paste Markdown or open a .md file.
- Choose which heading levels to include (H1–H6).
- Copy the TOC, or send the full document with the TOC inserted to the viewer.
Limits: Slug rules follow GitHub-style anchors (lowercase, punctuation stripped, spaces to hyphens). Duplicate headings get -1, -2 suffixes. Headings inside fenced code blocks are ignored.
FAQ
Will the links work on GitHub?
Yes for normal ASCII and most Unicode headings. Rare emoji-only titles may differ slightly from GitHub’s renderer.
Does this change my document?
Copy TOC only gives the list. Insert TOC at top builds a new document with the list under the first heading or at the top.
